Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zensky proclaimed that the meeting with the president of the United States, Donald Trump, regardless of the funeral for Pope Francis has the “potential to become historic.”

Zelensky with President Trump in the Basilica of San Pedro in the Vatican after joining other world leaders to respect the Pope. A photograph of the meeting showed Trump and Zensky sitting opposite in chairs within the great 16th century church.

The meeting occurred in the midst of the growing tensions between Washington and kyiv, which has inspired a lot in the framework of the peace agreement established by the Trump administration negotiators, which probably includes lands of Ukraine to Russky with a Hepsky Hepskyd Hepsky Hepsky Hepsky Hepsky Hepsky who won in the last three years of war.

The White House said the meeting between the two leaders took place for about 15 minutes and was “very productive”, with more details that will be published later on Saturday.

For his party, Zensky wrote in X: “Good meeting. We discussed a one by one. Waiting for results in everything we cover. Protecting the life of our people. The high the full and unconditional fire. War of reliable and lasting peace of Breken.

“Very symbolic meeting that has the potential to become historic, if we achieve articulations. Thank you [President Trump]. “

At the beginning of the week, President Trump once again criticized Zensky, suggested that the Ukrainian leader was the main impediment of a peace agreement that reaches La Paz, claiming that Russia is “ready” to sign an Armisticio agreement.

This occurred after Zensky publicly criticized the informed aspects of the Trump team, which was said to included the United States official who recognized Crimea as Russian territory. Ukraine states that the Peninsula was illegally annexed by Moscow in 2014 and that the territory is still correct, despite not having controlled the area in more than a decade.

President Trump commented that “Crimea was lost years ago” under Obama and that Zensky’s comments on Crimea’s property by Ukraine were “very harmful to peace negotiations.”

High -level officials in Washington, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance, warned that if an agreement is not reached soon, the Trump administration will withdraw from the negotiation table.

However, when he landed in Rome on Friday, President Trump expressed optimism about the progress of conversations with Russia and Ukraine in recent days.

“They are very close to an agreement, and the two parties should now meet, at very high levels, to” finish it. “Most of the main points are agreed. He wrote in Truth Social.
