In the Thursday transmission of the “Special Report” the secretary of the Treasury, Scott Besent, said there are a couple of “very large” commercial agreements that “are close” but the conversations with China “are a bit stagnant.” And will require direct conversations between XI and President Donald Trump.
Besent declared: “There are a couple of very large agreements that are close. A couple of them are more complicated and, as we saw with the threat of 50% of the rate last Friday, the fun of the EU for the table very quickly, Altion. Now we have.” ”
Host Bret Baier asked: “And what about China, specifically China? And that, obviously, began in a different place. How can you characterize the conversations now?”
Besent’s response: “I would say they are a little stagnant. I think we will have more conversations with them in the next few. And I think we can, at some point, to have a call between the president and the president of the XI party.”
Baier then said: “So stagnant. There was a time when the president thought that he was advancing quite significantly.”
Besent replied: “Again, I think that, given the magnitude of the conversations, given complexity, that will require that both leaders between them. They have a very good relationship. Known.”
