WNBA veteran becomes latest player to suffer ACL tear

The veteran of the storm of Seattle, Katie Lou Samuelson, has suffered a tear of LCA, the team announced on Saturday. The 27 -year -old striker signed with Samuelson in the low season after spending the 2024 season with the Indiana fever.

In his five -year career, Samuelson has played for Chicago Sky, Dallas Wings, Seattle Storm, Los Angeles Sparks and Fever, averaging 5.9 points per game and 2.5 assists in 38.9% of shooting. Just out of the maternity leave, he saw a decreased role last season, with an average of the lowest minutes (18.2) and the percentage of field goals (34.9%) from her rookie.

Samuelson was expected to be a rotation player in a list of veteran storms that also presents Nneka Ogwumike, Skylar Diggins, Gabby Williams, Lexie Brown, Ezi Magbegor, Alysha Clark and Erica Wheeler.

Now, the sniper is expected to lose the entire season 2025 of the WNBA.

Katie Lue Samuelson joins a long list of WNBA players who have suffered an ACL injury

Samuelson is the third storm player who suffered a tear of LCA before the season. Jordan Horston and Nika Muhl torn their ACL in the low season, Horston playing for the unlimited league athletes and Muhl playing abroad.

In addition, the recruit of Washington Mystics, Georgia Amore, broke his ACL in the training camp; General selection number 6 in the WNBA 2025 draft will miss the 2025 WNBA season.
