Indiana’s fever ended the 2022 season with a 5-31 5 victories record, 31 losses. In 2023, they wrote Aliyah Boston No. 1 in general, and were 13-27 the following year. That record allowed them to write Caitlin Clark No. 1 in general in 2024, who took the team to a 20-20 record and its first appearance in the WNBA playoffs in eight seasons. It was also the first time that the fever reached the threshold of 20 wins since 2015.
It was a great improvement, but also a year of lessons for the entire Indiana fever franchise. They learned what Clark and Boston needed to success, and they went to work in the low season, which made those things happen.
In the direction of the 2025 season, the Indiana Fever now has a new chief coach and new players to complement their young nucleus. They added to veteran players Dewanna Bonner, Natasha Howard and more, mix with a high Clark and Boston with another year in their belts, and Indiana looks good in the season.
On Indiana fever media day, Clark was asked if he believes that this year’s team can win a championship.
“Absolutely,” said Clark, and when asked how successful it would be for her in 2025, he offered a similar response: “A championship.”
Clark also made more comments to journalists about the gratitude he has for veteran players who chose to come to play Indiana this year. Shey Wens to win for them, saying that they could have gone to another place and that they deserve the best of themselves.
While the movements that Indiana certainly increased the fever of the playoff team marginalized to a possible son of the Homecourt Advantage team, will continue to be a battle.
