It could be said that one of the best hitters in university softball is about to reach the open market.

On his Instagram earlier this week, Sophia Knight of Boise State announced her intention to enter the transfer portal. The 5 – -inch 5 -inch gardener led all the Softball of Division I in Hits this season with 103, which were individual season records for Boise State and the Mountain West conference.

In particular, Knight is the first player in the Softball of the NCAA of Division I in reaching 100 hits in a single season in 23 years.

“After a lot of prayer and reflection, I have made the incredible deison to enter the transfer portal. This has the most difficult decision of my life, but I trust that God is guiding me to a new chapter by reference,” Knight wrote. “Boise will always be at home, and I will take love, lessons and faith that I found here.”

Knight had a stellar rookie season with the Broncos in which she was voted by Mountain West Freshman of the Year and named for the All-American team of Softball America Freshman. This season, she was named for the first team of Montain West and D1softball.com classified her as the seventh best sport garden.

In addition to its successful total, Knight also occupies the third place at the national level of batting this season with a .486 brand. He also accumulated 63 races, a program record five triples, 27 stolen bases and an OPS of 1,080 as a second year student.

Boise State had a solid season with a 34-22 record, but fell into the Mountain West A Nevada and San Diego State tournament.

A product of Huntington Beach, California, Knight has 188 hits, 30 bases per ball and only 36 strikeouts in 422 race shifts. It also has a race percentage of .962.

Knight enters the portal with two years of chosen removal. According to Softball America in ON3, 23 players have entered the sports transfer portal from Saturday, May 17.
