Despite all the million dollar smiles, Jalen Milroe showed after his first practice with Seahawks, it is clear that Draft’s selection of the third round of Seattle means businesses.
The diligent voice of the Milroe approach of his servant by military parents. His father, Quentin, served in the body of Marines while his mother, Lola, served in the Navy. Both were present for the opening of the Seahawks rookie mini -family on Friday.
“Having two military parents, it definitely emphasizes determination, determination, short -term goals and long -term goals and the understanding that a team is needed,” said Milroe. “I don’t believe in the autonomous word at all. A team is needed to achieve what you want to achieve. So my team was here today.”
This was also Milroe’s adjustment potential. He worked through the route tree and showed an impressive touch in the deep pitches.
Milroe, who completed 64% of his passes in Alabama with 45 Touchdowns and 20 interceptions, has spent the last year and a half working in his mechanics with former NFL field marshal Jordan in San Clemente, California. Palmer has also worked with Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen and even the new Seattle starter, Sam Darnold.
Milroe has acquired a better understanding of the role his body plays at the bottom to make strong and precise throws.
“Each quarterback is different,” said Milroe. “And so, to make a really deep understanding of how my body works in the field marshal position on how I throw the ball. And so, understanding how to distribute my body when it comes to my lower half mechanics and toings like that has been an approach to us. Efficient pin.”
The closed wing Elijah Arroyo, a second round selection, appreciated the capture of Milroe passes.
“I really can’t explain it,” Arroyo said. “I am not a field marshal, but only the way he throws the ball, the way he moves. He has the opportunity to be an elite field marshal at the highest level.”
The probabilities are that Milroe will make much more sitting than competing early in her NFL career. Darnold, after all, signed a three -year contract and $ 100.5 million in this low season. The Seahawks also brought a veteran backup drawn.
None of that is to suggest that Milroe, 22, intends to cost in her first year as a professional. He said he is studying Seahawks’s play book the day after he was recruited.
“It was a fast safe change,” said Milroe. “It is definitely now, this is my job. Now I know where I am going to be. It is a long safe process.”
Milroe has some familiarity with having to learn a new offensive system. He worked alongside three offensive coordinators with Crimson Tide. Last season, Milroe also operated with a completely new coaching staff, after Nick Saban let him give up a training race decorated like anyone in university football.
Seattle also has a new offensive coordinator this year. Klint Kubiak was hired in January after a season in the same position with the New Orleans Saints.
“We saw football in different lenses with each coordinator,” said Milroe. “It has a different terminology. It has different training adjustments.”
A familiar thing for Milroe on his first full day as a professional: to have his parents with him.
“My parents made a joke, ‘It’s like your first day of class today’, and they played a lot of photos after practice,” said Milroe. “But no, it is definitely great to be the NFL field marshal, to make the law of the feet, acclimatize with everything. It was definitely a dream come true safely.”
