The news occurs when the speculation continues about the future driving of Doohan for the team throughout the Gasly. The Bewan year with Doohan under pressure, since the team signed 2024 Super-Sub Franco Colapinto as a reserve pilot after a strong season in Williams about the second half of last season, and that pressure only increased when Doohan fought to open the 2025 campaign.
Then, ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, that speculation increased when Horacio Marin, president and CEO of YPF, appeared on the A24 television news channel and was caught in a hot microphone that indicates that Colapint would be in the car in the grandfather Emilia Romagna.

“I think we have a quite open leg as a team.
“That is just noise and Jack needs to continue doing a good job.
But I think it is obviously natural that there is always that speculation there. “
Pressing if Doohan would be in the car in Icola, Oakes declared that as of today, that is the case.
“Yes, I mean, as it is today, Jack is our driver along with Pierre,” Okes said.
“I think we have a fairly clear leg about that. I mean, we always evaluate it, but yes, today that is the case.”
But now Oakes himself is out.
