It will be a mixture of old and new for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Los Angeles and Los Angeles Paralympic Games.
The historic Memorial Coliseum of Los Angeles and the latest Sofi stadium at the nearby Inglewood, California, will share the ceremonies, city officials announced on Thursday, confirming what was part of the city’s offer in 2017.
It will be the third time of the Coloreum to organize the ceremony, the greatest amount in Olympic history, and it will be the first time that two locations share it. Sofi will also receive swimming in the games.
The torch illuminated by Decathlon Gold Medist Rafer Johnson at the Los Angeles Games of 1984 is still at the top of the Colosseum entrance.
“The places selected for the opening and closing ceremonies of 2028 will highlight the rich sports history of Los Angeles and the future of avant -garde, showing the best that has it to offer on the world stage,” said the president and president of La28, Caseyman in a statement.
Still to reveal themselves are how ceremonies will be organized.
