Angel City defender, Savy King, was discharged from the hospital, just over a week after collapsing the duration of the field, and needed surgery to treat cardiac abnormality.

King published a photo of herself at the hospital holding a heart -shaped pillow and giving a thumb on social networks on Sunday.

Angel City issued a statement that said King had been discharged from the hospital the day before.

King, 20, collapsed the second half in a match of the National Women’s Soccer League between Angel City and the visitor Utah Royal on May 9.

The players and fans were shaken by the incident, but the game continued, a movement that was widely criticized. Later, the League said she was reviewing her policies.

The NWSL players association was one of those who said the game should not have continued.

“These moments require humanity, a good judgment and a reverse. Any medical emergency required by the administration of life’s salvation care should end up at play. The party should not have continued,” said the NWSLPA.

On Friday, a declaration of the League expressed its regret for allowing the party to continue.

“The health and well -being of the entire NWSL community are still our highest priority, and in any similar situation in the future, the game should and would be abandoned,” said the statement.

Angel City visited Bay FC in a match on Saturday night, the first of the team from the King collapse. Before the beginning in the San José Paypal Park, both teams are held with ‘SK3’ printed on the front as a tribute to the king. The NWSL commissioner, Jessica Berman, spoke with journalists halfway.

“All we could do is learn from experience and conclude that in a future situation, we will make sure that our policies and protocols do not allow the game to continue,” he said in his first comments about King’s collapse.

King was the second selection especially in the 2024 Draft NWSL by Expansion Bay FC and played 18 games for the club. He was changed to Angel City in February and had started in eight games for the team this season.
