The error of the injury has bitten Washington’s mystics in the training field, and hard. A day after announcing that Georgia Amore, the number 6 selection in the WNBA Draft of 2025, suffered a left ACL injury, the team shared that Aaliyah Edwards will also be marginalized.
Edwards, Selection No. 6 in the WNBA 2024 draft has been diagnosed with a bruise in the lower back, according to the mystics. The team announced that it will be valued again in two weeks.

Edwards had a solid rookie season with the Mystics, averaging 7.6 points and 5.6 rebounds. She followed that with a strong unparalleled season, in which she was the runner -up of Tourner 1 to 1, falling against Naphesa Collier in three games.
This year, while the mystics continue their reconstruction, Edwards is scheduled to make another jump.
The opening game of the regular mystics season is scheduled for Friday, May 16. Depending on how her recovery is, the 22 -year -old could miss that starter.
Washington’s mystics have already lost two young players due to injuries
It is a bone a first pair of days of training camp. In addition to Amore and Edwards, Las Aces de Las Vegas announced that striker Megan Likefson is out indefinitely with an injury at the bottom of the leg.
Amore’s injury seems more serious and marks the last LCA injury suffered by a high -profile female basketball player. Juju Watkins of USC and the players of Storm Storm Nika Muhl and Jordan Horston torn their ACL in the low season of the WNBA; Muhl was playing abroad, while Horston played in unlimited athletes.
If Edwards is marginalized for longer, other young MiSTICs players could have a chance. Kiki Iriafen, the number 4 choice of the mystics, could see a few minutes of early season in the front place. And, the margin of Amore puts more of the load in his partner Selection of First Round, Sonia Citron, while potentially creates an opportunity for the Selection of Second Round Draft, Lucy Olsen, to make the list.
