The Grand Prix of Mexico City has become one of the most popular races at Formula 1. driven by a base of passionate fans and an incredible atmosphere, the race is loved by pilots, teams and fans equally.
Now the event will remain in the schedule for a few more seasons.
F1 announced on Wednesday a new extension with the Grand Prix of Mexico City, one that will keep the race in the F1 calendar until at least 2028. The extension extends for three years.
“We are very excited to announce that the Grand Prix of Mexico City will continue to be part of our calendar through the 2028 season. The Grand Prix of Mexico City returned to the F1 calendar in 2015, after appealing for the first time in the F1 calendar as a championship event in 1963. Last year’s race saw record assistance, with 405,000 fans enjoying the race.
