Joey D. Vieira, better known for his role in “Lassie,” died. Hey was 80 years old.
The wife of his “Lassie” co -star, Jon Provost, confirmed with Fox News Digital that Vieira died just before her birthday, surrounded by loved ones.
“I know him almost 30 years. We were in contact with Joey and his children all these years,” said Laurie Jacobson Provost.
“We talked to Joey Weekly Duration his long stay in the hospital. His daughter, Shann, lets us know when he entered the Hospice, who barely lasted 24 hours.”
Vieira died at the end of April 7 – “8 minutes before his birthday.” Laurie explained that Vieira’s daughter had called them the next morning to announce her death.
She continued to reflect on how her husband and Vieira with 68 years ago.
“The family” Lassie “is very close,” said Laurie.
His former co -star paid tribute to his friend for a long time on social networks.

Then he wrote that he had “with Joey when I was seven years old, when I started Lassie, we got along and we continued friends forever. Joey was a great guy, a talented actor and also a successful record producer. Joey has joined his son Beau.”
Jon, who portrayed Timmy Martin in “Lassie”, accompanied his sincere tribute with several black and white photos of his memories with a scoring.
The cause of death is unknown.
Vieira was born on April 8, 1944 in Los Angeles, California.
The actor made his debut on the screen in the situation comedy “He meets Mr. McNutley”, and then starred in the comedy “The Pride of the Family” with Paul Hartmann.
Vieira was 10 years old when “Lassie” reserved, created by Robert Maxwell and animal coach Rudd Weatherwax. He starred in the show from 1954 to 195, portraying Sylvester “Porky” Brockway, who lived on a farm with his Collie.
