He will remember that in March, the great Phil Mickelson unloaded the shot. He said he believed that Joaquin Niemann de Liv was the best golfer in the world. Since Scottie Scheffler Hero and still has that post after her victory in the PGA championship … that was brave to say the least.
What is more for Phil is that the shot became bolder. He faced criticism from what Scottie said and doubled, more than that really, because of Scottie he could not win an event before the Ryder Cup at the end of this year.
For his credit, Phil possessed his opinion when Scottie won the CJ Cup a couple or week ago when it was shown that he was wrong for the first time. Even more until that moment, Phil sacrificing other congratulations to Scottie while giving the final touches to her Wanamaker trophy claim.

Phil adding that Scottie is “clearly #1 in the world” is an obvious wink to which he initially established that he brought to the fire storm to begin with.
Congratulations to Phil for greeting the white flag and recognizing that he was wrong.
