The Philadelphia Filis closer, José Alvarado, was suspended by 80 games on Sunday after a positive test for external testosterone under the major league drug test program.
Alvarado, among the toughest relievers, became the second player suspended this year under the major league test program after the Atlanta Jurickson Profar’s brave gardener.
