Before 2024 Indianapolis 500, I sat down with the McLaren CEO, Zak Brown, to get a flavor for the event. In addition to his duties with the McLaren Formula 1 team, Brown’s position as CEO of McLaren makes him watch over Arrow McLaren, the team’s indycar operation.
And last year, while Lando Norris and Oscar Piasstri were fighting at the Monaco Grand Prix on the F1 side, Brown was in Indianapolis for Indianapolis 500 race.
Our conversation did not take long duration to see why.
“I am fortunate. I have many pinco moments these days, being in the lucky position of working for McLaren. But, you know, it was always the weekend of the day of the fallen, the fastest race in the world, the Larst Live Sporting etted, said EventDed EventDed Evened Evened Event. “And it is a race that usual brings drama.
I remember, you know, Emerson [Fittipaldi] And now [Unser Jr.] Playing with a few laps to “remember Brown”. Therefore, it has produced some of the most emblematic moments of sport. And then you put everything together. If you like motor racing, it is difficult not to make the Indy 500 impress you when I was a child when it grew.
“He certainly made me about me.”
