Cristiano Ronaldo headed the 2025 forbes list of the best paid athletes in the world, ahead of the Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry star and the heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury.
The list takes into account the respective salaries and payment days of each athlete, as well as sponsorship agreements and appearance rates.
It is estimated that each of the 10 main athletes on the list earned at least $ 100 million last year, with Ronaldo entering around $ 275 million. The former Real Madrid star and Manchester United has headed the Forbes list for three consecutive years.
Curry arrives secondly in the list with $ 156 million, ahead of two other NBA stars: LeBron James (at number 6) with an estimated $ 133.8 million and Kevin Durant (at No. 10) with $ 101.4 million.
Fury is the only athlete who does not play a team sport that appears on this year’s list. In number 3, the boxer allegedly accumulated $ 146 million in profits. Behind him at number 4 is the field marshal of the Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott ($ 137 million), the only NFL player to decipher the list of the 10 best.
Lionel Messi completes the first five, with the World Cup winner with $ 135 million.
Two MLB players: the Toletero of the New York Mets, Juan Soto (No. 8, $ 114 million) and the Los Angeles Dodgers star, Shohei otani (No. 9, $ 101.4 million), also make the list.
