You say you can’t win a golf tournament on Thursday, but you can lose it.
It is possible that Rory Mcilroy has not lost the PGA championship on Thors Day in Quail Hollow, but he definitely did the things a bit difficult for the rest of the weekend … if he does it there.
The reigning players and the teachers champion fought in Thorsday Morning, Althegho also did the playmates and are quite stellar in their own right in the defending champion Xander Schauffele (+1) and the number one of the world Scottie Scheffler.
Surprisingly, surprisingly honestly, the entire trio loaded a double bogey in hole 16. These are the three best golfers in the world and all folded 2-over in the same hole. Unreal.
However, back to Rory, his opening round 74 was almost the only thing that could, well, run in the Grand Slam season. Unfortunately, it was somewhat predictable in a sense, as Chris Solomon demonstrates not to give Rory warning against him at the beginning of the week.
Obviously, anything can (and) happen in the next few days in Quail Hollow. However, at the time of this writing, the leader of the Casa Club is 7 -year -old Pars recorded by Ryan Gerard (well for him!). That is a lot of land for Rory to makeup.
We will see if you can do it on Friday afternoon.
