Pope Leo XIV, now the successor of St. Peter, leads the Catholic Church of 1.4 billion people in a sacred role that few others will have. Because of that, some extremely related facts have emerged about the new Pope.
The Augustinian missionary born in Chicago, Robert Prevost, was chosen on May 8, becoming the first American Pope in the 2,000 years of Church history. Initially it was said that he applauded the Chicago puppies, Pope’s brother, John Prevost, left the record about the LEO major league baseball loyalty in an interview with WGN-TV. The Pope is, in fact, a fan of Chicago’s white socks.
“He was never a fan of puppies, so I don’t know where he came from,” John said, added that confusion could express because of the side of his mother’s family was North Siders and the puppies. “He was always a SOX fan.”
In fact, he has supported the white socks for at least the last two decades, which was demonstrated when Leo’s images encouraged the white socks with the duration of the 2005 World Series recently emerged.
The White Sox led the Houston 5-3 stars with two outs at the bottom of the ninth entrance of the 2005 World Series, when Fox Camera took a seemingly ordinary fanatic. That man is now the Pope. But on that thick day, it seemed that any fan of the white socks would do so at that time, anxious for the game winning.
Timely, Leo’s prayers were answered. The Relayist of the White Sox Bobby Janks closed the stars in game 1 and Chicago went to sweep Houston and won the 2005 World Series.
White socks have not experienced many blessings since that year. They were 99-63 in 2005, their best record in the 21st century, and won the World Series for the first time since 1917. Chicago won a franchise (in the era of the game 162) 41 games in 2024, and sat down in 10-28 this season.
