The international football governing body has confirmed eight host cities for the 2027 World Cup that will be held in Brazil.
FIFA announced the places for the tournament of a month on Wednesday, but has a determined even where the opening match and the final will take place.
The eight sites were among the 12 used for the Men World Cup in 2014: Rio de Janeir Recum and Salvador (Arena Fonte Nova).
“From impressive beaches to cosmopolitan cities, the world will experience the energy, color and heat that only Brazil can offer,” said FIFA president Gianni Infantino, in a statement.
Some members of the Brazilian Soccer Confederation have said they want to celebrate the opening match in São Paulo and La Final in La Magazana of 78,000 seats, as he did in the 2014 World Cup.
Curitiba, Manaus and Natal, all places for the Male World Cup, were not included in the Women’s Tournament Offers. Belem also stayed out.
The host city selection process began in August last year. In the 2014 World Cup, players, fans and coaches criticized the choice of 12 host cities for a tournament that was widely in the country.
For this tournament, scheduled for June 24 and 2027 Ibio, almost all host cities are on the Brazilian coast or near it, with the exception of the capital, Brasilia and Belo Horizonte, two of the most populated cities in the nations.
Brazil will be the host of the women’s tournament for the first time. Brazil is five times World Cup champion in male football, but has never won the women’s global title.
