The NFL 2027 draft is directed to the capital of the nation, a person familiar with the details told The Associated Press on Sunday. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because President Trump will be ready to make the announcement on Monday at the White House.
It will be the second time that the NFL draft was celebrated in Washington and the first since 1941. The draft is expected to take place in the National Mall, according to the Washington Post.
Washington organized the two -year draft from now on is the last victory off the field for the commanders, a week since they reached an agreement with the DC government to build a stage at the old RFK site. That is still pending counter approach.
The team, under the former owner, Dan Snyder, tried to relieve the draft preventively. Now, it will happen behind the new team owned by the team led by Josh Harris, who bought Snyder’s commanders in 2023.
Green Bay, the smallest market in the NFL, was the host of the draft last weekend outside the historic Lambeau Field. The NFL announced to a multitude of 600,000 fans who attended during the three days.
The NFL draft used to be a fixed element in Radio City Music Hall in New York and has become an even greater success since it went to the road in 2015. Chicago was the host of the Draft in 2015-16. Philadelphia had it in 2017, followed by Dallas and Nashville.
The NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced the selections of his house in 2020 turning the pandemic. He went to Cleveland in 2021, followed by Las Vegas, Kansas City and Detroit. A 750,000 record crowd attended the Motown Draft in 2024. Pittsburgh will be the host next year.
